When the entire field is connected, the motor runs at the lowest speed. The speed can be further increased in steps by cutting out the resistance in the series turns. This method of speed control is used in electric traction.

The PWM controller accepts the control signal and adjusts the duty cycle of the PWM signal according to the requirements. PWM waves with various duty cycle are shown in the figure below.

When writing firmware, remember to set up the correct PWM frequency to ensure the smooth operation of your motor controller.
